The Closer Season Four - Episode 1

 The Closer Season Four – Episode 1

This episode sees our old friend, Bill Croelick, return for a visit... *shudders*

The team is investigating a murder where the body of a woman was set on fire in Griffith Park, sparking a massive brush fire.

So the beginning of this episode is so typical Brenda. The fire department is up to its ass in alligators with the fire and she’s in the middle of it trying to get access to her crime scene.

We meet Ricardo Ramos for the first time in this episode. While I don’t mind this character too much I did find it completely unrealistic that Will decided to introduce them in the middle of a fire crisis… I don’t know, it just seemed really silly.

We see the first signs of trouble with Gabriel and Daniels in this episode. As soon as I saw it I knew that they were done.

To be honest I don’t know why the writers ever bothered with that anyway. It’s not like they bothered to build any sort of story around it or anything… it was kinds weird really.

You know, as soon as I saw the fire I thought of Croelick so I wasn’t surprised by his appearance in this episode. I don’t know why, but the first time I watched I just wasn’t surprised in the least.

So, as I already said, I don’t particularly dislike the Ramos character, but I don’t really care for him either. In fact, with the exception of maybe Murphy Brown, TV shows seem to almost always portray reporters as a HUGE pain in the ass. They seem to think that they have all the answers that the stupid police can’t quite figure out. Drives me nuts.
Brenda: “This may surprise you, Ricardo, but when a news paper announces that we’re lookin’ for people it sometimes makes them harder to find.”

Brenda is just so very funny when it comes to that cat of hers. OMG, I laughed my ass off when she started closing all the blinds to the house and then started to lecture the cat on sitting in the window.

Then you realize that their plumbing isn’t working but she won’t call the landlord because she doesn’t want him to find out about Kitty.

The she finds out that Fritz peed while he was in the shower…. OMG, I was literally laughing out loud during this scene.

You know, for a good looking guy, the man who plays Bill Croelick is very good at doing ‘creepy’… *shudders again*

I loved the way her team literally jumped all over him the instant he walked in.

====

Rich Man, Poor Man
Begger Man, Thief
Black Man, White Man
Deputy Chief.

How creepy is that?

When they found out that Ramos had gone behind their backs and contacted Croelick they should have denied him all further access… END OF LINE.

What an idiot. In that particular moment I wished that Croelick would set fire to him.  I was also extremely annoyed with Will for allowing him back in..  What?  Just kiss and make up?

That whole scene where Brenda is helping to get the finger print off the dead girl is just soooooo yucky.
Tao: “Tell ya what… Eyes on Gabriel.
Really Tao?  Gabriel?  One look at Gabriels face had me cracked up again.

====
====

I loved the scene in the Brenda’s office where they’re trying to show how the suspect most likely attached the victim. Sanchez grabs Ramos and flips him upside down… Brenda doesn’t even look up from her files.
Brenda:Put him down, Detective Sanchez

For an episode with a rather dark theme, there are some pretty funny parts to this episode.

Fritz showing up with Kitty and all her possessions… oh so brilliant.
Brenda:If I leave him here, maintenance will take him away
Fritz:Then you can stop by the pound every morning and pick her back up

I also find it so funny how Brenda still calls Kitty a HIM.

====
====

Okay, so if you’re somewhere… anywhere… and you hear Brenda Leigh say “Yoo Hoo!”

RUN

====
====

When we realize that Croelick is waiting for her when she gets home the hair stood up on my arms…. *shudders*

The Candle Sticks…. Oh so creepy *shudders*

====

I don’t understand why she didn’t tell Fritz about Croelick being there.

Someone,  ANYONE,  please explain that to me.
